We can’t believe it’s come around so quickly, but somehow; April 12th and the reopening of all non-essential shops is just around the corner.  The shelves are bursting with divine homewares, beautiful plants, practical baskets, home accessories and of course, our natural soy wax candles.  The whole team have pulled out all the stops to make sure the shop is looking even more special than before. It’s been a group effort to spring clean and give the shop a welcome lick of paint and a freshen up so that we’re ready to welcome you all with open arms.

We can’t wait to fling open our doors to you all once more, but as we’re sure you’ll understand, things have to operate a little differently in the short term. Throughout the Corona virus pandemic, we’ve taken the safety of our staff and customers very seriously.  While the restrictions are easing, we’re still hoping to err on the side of caution and operate as gently and safely as possible.  So, there are just a few housekeeping rules that we ask everyone to follow to make sure we all have a happy and safe shopping experience.

We ask that only one household enters the shop at a time, the shop is only little and there isn’t the space for social distancing between households once you’re inside.  Please be patient with us.

We’ll be operating a traffic light system, please wait outside when the light is red. As soon as it’s green, come in and browse to your heart’s content!

Please make sure you sanitise your hands on entry, we’ve even got some lovely hand sanitiser that smells like Quiescent to sweeten the deal!

With housekeeping out of the way, we’re very excited to offer a sneak preview of some of the beautiful new stock lining the shelves.  Brightening up the space no end are the fabulous Yately Papers; absolutely gorgeous paper homewares and accessories, designed and hand block printed by Trudi Savin using sustainable and biodegradable materials.

We’ve also got a truly beautiful new range of linen aprons and tea towels. Made under the ethos of minimal waste and slower living, these beautiful new linens are made for living, and made to last. In beautiful, gentle colours like dusty pink, sage green, midnight blue, sky blue, natural stone and slate, they’re a subtle pop of colour for your kitchen and an absolute delight to use for many years to come.

An exciting addition to our product range is Shell On Earth’s crushed whelk shells.  These whelk shells, exceptionally pretty in their own right, are actually a by-product of a low impact, traditional method of whelk fishing which causes minimal damage to the sea floor and marine habitats. The crushed whelk shells are perfect for plant pots and terrariums, garden borders and beds to retain moisture and even improve drainage.

Of course, we mustn’t forget our freshest new scent for spring too! We’ve welcomed back a seasonal favourite, Greenhouse. It’s a fresh, savoury scent which has delightful notes of tomato vine and basil at its heart.  Whichever format you choose, it’s bright and uplifting, perfect for kitchens and living spaces as we enter the warmer months.

We really are excited to show you around the shop again, we’re sure that you’ll love all of the new products and hope that you’ll be just as taken by them as we are. We’ve also got the lovely Victoria joining us in the shop soon, so be sure to give her a wave and say hello if you’re visiting.

Thank you so much for your understanding and continued support, we can’t wait to welcome you back.
